Manufacturing Engineer

At Our Client, an established operation in the Greater Kalamazoo area, continuous innovation and technical excellence drive daily operations. This mandate exists to take full process ownership across a high-mix, low-volume production environment—influencing product lifecycles from initial manufacturability reviews straight through to final assembly line layout and optimization. For an experienced engineer who thrives on hands-on technical problem-solving, this role offers an ideal balance of CAD layout design, PLC automation integration, and lean process balancing. Rather than feeling like a small cog in a massive assembly engine, here your continuous improvement initiatives directly shape plant flow, product quality, and operational safety.
Is This You? The right engineer for this opportunity is an inquisitive, hands-on problem solver who loves digging into complex production puzzles. You are energized by taking full ownership of the shop floor—equally comfortable modeling in SolidWorks, interpreting complex GD&T specifications, and optimizing physical workflow layouts. Rather than managing purely from behind a screen, you prefer a dynamic setting where you can apply root-cause analysis to eliminate waste, streamline fabrication, and interface directly with cross-functional teams. You bring a versatile skill set across sheet metal fabrication, welding, and automated assembly systems, combined with a natural ability to guide teams through change.
